Torne Valley Climbers’ Coalition

Torne Valley Climbers’ Coalition advocates for climbing access in Rockland and Orange counties of New York State. We work with landowners, guide new access efforts, and encourage good stewardship and environmental practices in the local climbing community.

COVID-19: DON’T CLIMB AT THE POWERLINEZ RIGHT NOW. STAY HOME.

– Nonessential gatherings are banned in New York State.
– You can transmit the virus through climbing and bouldering – this is why the gyms are all closed. There’s no evidence that climbing outside is less likely to spread the virus. Stay home.
– It took a lot of effort to secure legal climbing access at the Powerlinez and other crags. Now, our community will be judged by how responsibly we behave in this moment. Don’t endanger future access.
